Dominates Kelvin Gastelum
Brady defeated Kelvin Gastelum via submission (kimura) at 1:43 of Round 3 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Austin, Texas.
ANALYSIS
This was a rout from start to finish in a fight which went off as roughly a pick 'em. Recognizing Gastelum -- who was returning to welterweight for the first time since July 2016 -- couldn't handle his wrestling game, Brady fired off five takedown attempts, landing all of them. Kelvin had zero chance of winning a position on the mat, as Sean had the answer whenever he tried to escape. It was a resounding rebound effort from Brady on the heels of his knockout loss to Belal Muhammad in October 2022. It's always a concern in regards to how Brady will generate offense when his takedowns aren't landing, but he's a legitimate elite grappler. Don't give up on the 31-year-old Philadelphia native just yet. He'll also take home a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus for his efforts here, which was awarded to each of the evening's finishers.

Brady hasn't stepped into the octagon since October last year when he suffered a defeat against Belal Muhammad at UFC 280 in what was his first professional loss. Brady was scheduled to face Michel Pereira in March, but the fight got called off due to Brady's groin injury. He's fully recovered now, though.
